What is Babelic exactly?

Babelic is a translation service for short texts that need to be translated quickly and at a very reasonable price.


What are your rates?

We have two main rates, professional and standard, for which there are different prices depending on the languages. You can see the price for your text using our editor. If you are not registered you can also see it by clicking on “Quote” on the login page


How do I submit my translations?

The main way is through our web page, although you can also do it by email. If you send an email to the address user@babelic.com from the account you used to register, we will respond with the translation of the text. In the email subject (subject field) you must specify the language into which you would like your text to be translated. For example: :

Subject: English
Body:
This is the Spanish text I would like to translate into English.
There are other ways to submit translations. Some of these, such as”subscriptions”, can be see in the options page .


How do I make payments?

Babelic uses a prepay system for translation payments. This way, when you submit a translation you must have money in your account or pay at that time. You can submit translations without having money in your account, but they will appear as pending until we receive payment.
You can pay via Paypal, a company that belongs to the Ebay group, which allows you to pay with any type of credit card or by bank transfer. .

Who translates my texts?

The only requirement we ask from our translators is that they master the language. We then use a series of processes to select the best ones.


What is the deadline?

Usually just a few hours. Our priority is to offer a fast turnaround, and therefore obviously depending on the length of your text, your translation will be ready within a short period of time.


Privacy of my texts: Who can read the translations I submit?

As in any translation agency, we will send your text to our translators and proofreaders for them to carry out the translation. Nobody else will see them.
Even so, if the text is highly confidential, and to avoid problems, we recommend you select another translation method.


How can I register as a translator?

On our translators’ registration web page . Once you have registered we will send you a test translation for each language pair you select to assess your level.


What do I have to do to start getting translations and how do I send them back later?

Once you register, , you will find an easy tutorial in your internal translator area with all the necessary information so you can get to work.


What rate will I receive as a translator?

Depending on the language, type of text and length the translator is allocated a percentage of the amount paid by the client.
In each translation we will send you detailed information on the number of words, amount etc, and you will be able to decide if you would like to do it or not.


Do I need to be freelancer/agency in order to do translations?

In order to receive payment for the translations we need you to send us an invoice with your information made out to our company. For this reason, the only requirement is your ability to issue invoices.


Why do I have the option to enter my instant messaging username ( Microsoft Messenger, Google Gtalk) in the registration details?

We will simply use it to send you notifications: when a translation is ready, when there are new entries in your subscriptions, etc.
Of course, as with your email address, we will never use it for advertising or give it out to a third party.


Is there a minimum daily or weekly time commitment?

No. You decide when you are available to receive translations, and for each of them you have the option to accept or decline.
Even after you accept it you can cancel it for any reason.
